It’s just another day at the beach as you plan your End of Summer retreat to enjoy a little surf, sand and sunshine on those famous California shores. The water is inviting, the air much cooler than inland climes, and you’re on your way to good times. Everything seems perfect–till you come home with flu-like symptoms, a sore throat, infection or something you can’t shake off. What gives? If you didn’t pay attention, it probably was the water you dove into. When a beach is graded “F” on the Beach Report Card you can easily find (on healthebay.org), it isn’t fit for human consumption, recreation or pleasure. In fact, it can make you sick! It happens to the best and most popular of beaches, and you would never know just by looking that your favorite destination gets a big fat F.
