Big Beverage and Food Weekend in California

No matter what your culture and how you say, “drink up!”, there’s an event waiting for you to check out this weekend with plenty of food and beverages. From Greek Ouzo with “Opa” to German beer, or Mexican tequila and “Salud”, there’s a cultural taste for everyone out there in cities throughout the state.
Here are a few food and beverage events going on:
- TORRANCE – German-American Heritage Day 2012 on September 9 at Alpine Village. Celebrate German-American Day beginning at 1 p.m. The events will include the affiliated clubs of the German-American League joining in the “Grand Parade” that will feature their banners and costumes or tracht in the official opening ceremony. There will be also be special activities for adults and kids – and you’ll be able to try your luck to win a great prize at the German-American Heritage Day Tombola. Chefs of Alpine Village will have a great menu of special home-made German food, great beer and drinks. Location: 833 Torrance Blvd., Torrance CA. Gates open at noon and a program of fun, music and dancing will begin at 1 p.m. Cost: Donation of $10 for 17 years and up.
