The rich, green lawns of estates that surround (and even fill) Huntington Library and Gardens portray a reality that is artificial. Southern California’s coastal areas and cities are primarily desert ecologies, but you’d never know it by looking. When given an opportunity the area grows some fantastic succulents and cacti visible at the desert garden in San Marino.  Huntington Library gardens actually contain a variety of themed areas but one of the favorities for European and Asian tourists is the Desert Garden.
