Ahoy! Labor Day Sea Experiences

The sea is the place to be this Labor Day if you love boat rides, sailing ships, catamarans, sternwheeler races and military vessels — did we leave anything out?  Among the fun-tastic things going on ….

  • LAKE TAHOE: Participate in the annual Great Lake Tahoe Sternwheeler Race  on the  M.S. Dixie II or Tahoe Queen.
  • SAN DIEGO: Ride in the Swift Boat Parade of Sail at San Diego’s Festival of Sail, the largest Tall Ship festival on the West Coast!
  • SACRAMENTO: Strike it Rich on Capitol Hornblower 1 hour Gold Rush River Cruise Sept. 4-7, hornblower.com
  • SAN FRANCISCO: Go Sailing on the  Historic Scow Schooner ALMA Sept. 5, nps.gov
  • LONG BEACH: Take a coastal cruise between Alamitos Landing and the Queen Mary on Long Beach’s public transportation catamaran, Aqualink.
  • VENTURA: Rock on the Dock bands on floating dock in Ventura Harbor Sept. 5. Guests kayak, SUP, or rent electric and paddle boats.
  • ALAMEDA: On Labor Day firefighters, police officers, Coast Guard personnel, and other emergency responders get free admission to USS Hornet.
