Just mention the word, May, and you get people all excited in Dixon, Calif. Located outside Sacramento in the Central Valley, May signals the time to do something the townspeople have been doing for 136 years–having a parade–and later, a fair! Dixon May Day Parade this Saturday is cute & corny, but patriotic to the core! Kids’ entries in the small town parade include children pushing wheel barrels and carrying over-sized shovels. The fair this year includes musical acts Snoop Dogg and The Beat, plus a stage show with Larry the Cable Guy. the Demolition Derby is on closing night.
