Mariachi fans should head south this week and next for two exciting Mariachi festivals held in San Juan Capistrano and Calexico. Annual Battle of the Mariachis takes place this weekend at Mission San Juan Capistrano on Saturday, May 12, 2012, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Cost is around $10. missionsjc.com
For those who want to head closer to the border, go to Calexico next week as the Chamber of Commerce and city of Calexico host Mariachi Festival Sin Fronteras May 16-19, 2012, $10 tickets, calexicochamber.net
