Do you know your city’s mayor?
While most California chambers of commerce host a “State of the City” event featuring the mayor, “Breakfast with the Mayor” can be a little different. From prayers & pancakes to saddle up & ride, variety is the spice of life. In some seaside cities they actually bless the waves, then take a surfboard ride!
Especially popular is the National Day of Prayer (Thursday, May 3, 2012) celebrated with the mayor. There are over 400 events in California during the 61st annual celebration (nationaldayofprayer.org).
How many mayors are there in California? A rough estimate would be just over 450 mayors.
