California Brings Home the Cheese

Sacramento hosts the American Cheese Society Festival of Cheeses this week at Sacramento Convention Center and on August 1, 2014 there’s a rare opportunity to taste the best cheeses–over 1,500 of them! The winners of this year’s cheese competition were announced on July 31 and California cheeses came in 2nd place and 3rd place.
Top Cheeses
- BEST OF SHOW: Tarentaise Reserve from Farms for City Kids Foundation in Vermont
- 2ND PLACE: Point Reyes Bay Blue from Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company, California
- 3RD PLACE TIE: Aged Gouda from Oakdale Cheese & Specialties, California, and Eden from Sprout Creek Farm, New York.
