For those just trying to make it through the summer, October seems a long way away. However, Oktoberfest celebrations are just around the corner with many starting in only 7 or 8 weeks! Oakland’s Dimond District is busy promoting its event, its 6th Annual Oaktoberfest in the Dimond on Saturday, October, 5, 2013. It is a traditional Munich style celebration that launches with Oakland Mayor Jean Quan tapping the first keg at 10:45 a.m.
Another event coming soon with even more beer on tap is the California Beer Festival (shown in photos) in San Dimas. Last year it was held in the Bay Area. It takes place at Frank G. Bonelli Park on Saturday, September 7, 2013. Over 7o craft beers are being served, along with great bands and entertainment throughout the day. See: Californiabeerfestival.com
