California Has a Fascination with Psychic Information

Published on: January 24, 2013

Californians are fascinated with learning about the future and connecting with the past.  Psychics are abundant in the Golden State, and for thousands of people, they are a source of hope to get closure on subjects or find answers.  Several days ago we recommended that you try Zoltar the mechanical fortune teller to get your prediction at a fair price.

In my extremely limited exposure as a news reporter, my first encounter came when writing a news story on a psychic to the stars. I didn’t request a personal reading but the man asked to hold my watch or bracelet. I obliged and began to take notes as he spoke. He didn’t ask any questions or seek any feedback in regard to his statements. In fact, most of what he said didn’t make much sense–it referred to future dates.  Surprisingly, all the events unfolded exactly as he predicted, though I didn’t realize it until I came across my notes years later.  The events he foretold were major, life-changing events with exact months and years provided. It was almost creepy how accurate he was. But what good did it do me since I hadn’t payed attention?  For me, the take-away was that there really is something to this phenomenon.

Unfortunately, many famous “psychics” aren’t so accurate, they charge up to $800 for an hour session, and seem to ask silly asking questions such as:  “Does someone here have a friend or family member whose name has an “a” or a “b” in it?”   For a glimpse into the world of psychics from one perspective, check out “Psychic Blues: Confessions of a Conflicted Medium”, written by Mark Edwards who states: “I was one of America’s top psychics — and like all of them, a complete fraud.”

It’s possible that many psychics such as Mark Edwards are great entertainers with the gift of gab, having no better chance of guessing the right answers than you or me. It is also possible that some are tapping into the quantum future or past and are getting information from another realm or dimension. Popular known psychics often become overwhelmed with requests for readings, even at $800-1,000 per hour! They require club membership for you to gain access to a waiting list for fee-based readings.

When psychics were tasked with predicting events in 2012, here are a few sample predictions that appeared on TV, radio and in newspapers:

LaMont Hamilton
Accident seen around U.S. President Obama as he trips or falls in the early months of 2012.
A conflict or battle in outer space will occur this year between two countries, most likely involving Russia or Iran when communications satellites are attacked.

Judy Hevenly
A tsunami in Hawaii; major wildfires in Canada.
Power outages in Paris, Las Vegas, London, New York, and Los Angeles.

Nikki “Psychic to the Stars”
Earthquake in Mexico City destroying most of the city.
Giant earthquake in California.

Blair Robertson

There will be a bombing on a cruise ship this year.

The Psychic Twins (Terry and Linda Jamison)
