Some of us eat gingerbread cookies all year long (Trader Joe’s triple ginger snaps are my favorite!) Ginger is said to help digestion and aid travelers who feel sea sick. Some take it to help ease nausea during chemo treatments.
Each year around November California’s some talented hotel and theme park chefs plan their strategies to create a Wow for the the public to enjoy a bakery favorite. Designs range from a life-size beachin’ vehicle that once appeared at Fashion Island Hotel in Newport Beach, to traditional displays–or in Disneyland’s case, a Haunted Mansion themed spectacular!
Gingerbread is so fantastic that Sausalito built the month of December around it for tourists to see dozens of incredibly creative shop window displays.
It’s never too early to learn the science of gingerbread, as you’ll see at Southern California’s Discovery Science Centers. Their annual Science of Gingerbread, includes a contest, interactive experiences and just what it takes to make this magic come to life.
