California Olive and Olive Oil Festivals
It’s that wild and wacky time of year when anything goes–including your bed right out the door of your bedroom as it heads onto city streets for a bed race at the Corning Olive Festival. It’s not quite the Kinetic Sculpture Grand Championship, but it will do. Olive and olive oil festivals, contests, and blessings are celebrations of California’s Mediterranean climate and the incredible olive products that locals find fresher and sometimes better than imported European counterparts. When it was discovered that the age of oils imported weren’t always what was claimed, consumers began taking a look at “California grown”. Our state produces exceptional oils you owe it to yourself to try and maybe even buy. Here’s a list of special olive events this year. Warning! Once you sample local olive oils, you’ll never be the same.
