The California Rodeo (carodeo.com) is the biggest event of the year in Salinas and it runs July 18-22, 2012, supplying non-stop action at the California Rodeo Fairgrounds (Sports Complex). July 18 features a one-night only Professional Bull Riding Show and competition, while the rest of the week operates like a two-ring circus–each Rodeo performance features events that occur in the arena and on the track simultaneously.
Another big rodeo held this week is Fortuna Rodeo (fortunarodeo.com). Events throughout the week of July 16-22, 2012, include community Chili Cook-off, and something tourists won’t want to miss, “Kidnapped Tourist Trial and Hanging” at High Noon on Fortuna Library Lawn, 14th Street between Main and N Streets. The Junior Rodeo goes July 18-19, and the California Cowboys Professional Rodeo Association host the big rodeo July 21-22, 2012 at Rohner Park. See more rodeos in California!
