The most stunning landscapes can be seen in our national and state parks, and it is no surprise that top winning pictures in the National Park Service photo contest 2012 were taken in California. Out of 14 selected images, nearly half–3rd place winning photo of McArthur-Burney waterfalls, and 5 honorable mentions of Point Lobos, Anza Borrego desert, Mount Shasta and Torrey Pines–represent the Golden State. The pictures showcase what residents of California surely must recognize, and tourists come to our state to see and appreciate, as evidenced by the 3rd place winner who comes from Colorado. The annual contest invites you to participate and maybe get to show off your prized picture you took. For details, check back next year on National Park Service website (nps.gov). Congratulations to all who won in 2012! Nice work.
