Marching bands, military units, service organizations and honored vets share their pride & patriotism with the public in emotional, moving displays of the true Red, White & Blue.
There are dozens of Veterans Day parades in California with the majority taking place on Monday, November 11, 2019.
While there hasn’t been a mandatory military conscription (the draft) since the end of the Vietnam War in 1973, the Selective Service System still requires all male U.S. citizens, and male aliens living in the U.S., who are ages 18 through 25, to register with Selective Service. Few people (if any) are prosecuted for failing to register–the agency says its goal is registration, not prosecution. In the event of war or extreme national emergency as determined by the Congress and the president, the draft can call men to be inducted to serve in the U.S. military.
Parades (subject to change) are November 11, 2019, unless otherwise noted*
