Casino Christmas

It’s likely to be a Blue Christmas for over 1,000 workers who lost their jobs at Chukchansi Gold Resort Casino this fall when a hostile takeover attempt and federal investigation led to the Coarsegold casino’s closure. The vast majority of around 70 Indian owned casinos in California are having a Happy Holiday, however with  revenue likely to exceed $7 billion in 2014! Nearly half of California’s 58 counties have Indian casinos that locals see as economic drivers. Although revenue doesn’t go into local coffers, the casinos provide jobs, attract tourists to surrounding businesses (restaurants, hotels, shops) and offer entertainment that cities & towns may not enjoy otherwise.  This December is a perfect example of the great music and shows you can catch at casinos throughout the state.
