Celebrate Flowers

Tulips are in bloom in and around Pier 39 in San Francisco during Tulipmania, held each February. Walking tours are offered, or you can just sit down on a bench and enjoy the colorful flowers. Spring in California brings so many blossoms to enjoy. Here are a few to consider:
- Valentine’s Day Roses – are a traditional gift to give to loved ones or love interests on February 14.
- ARCADIA: The Geranium Society Pelargonium Conference at Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden takes place on Feb.16, 2019.
- LA CANADA: Pacific Camellia Society Show Feb.16-17, 2019 at Descanso Gardens is open to the public. | camellias
- ALAMEDA: Alameda County Home & Garden Spring Show Feb.15-17 at Alameda County Fairgrounds
- SAN DIEGO: San Diego Chinese New Year Feb.16-17 celebrates with fanfare — and flowers such as Chrysanthemums, usually sold at flower markets during these celebrations.
- BAKERSFIELD: Home & Garden Show Feb. 22-25 at Kern County Fairgrounds
- SAN FRANCISCO: Pacific Orchid Exposition, A Legacy of Orchids Feb.22-24 at San Francisco County Fair Building Hall of Flowers
- COSTA MESA: OC Home & Garden Show Feb.22-24 at OC Fair & Event Center | home shows
- MODESTO: Home & Garden Show Feb.22-24 at Modesto Centre Plaza
- RIPON: Almond Blossom Festival Feb.22-24 is one of several events and festivals celebrating the beautiful tree blossoms that soon yield fruits and nuts.
- CARLSBAD: The Flower Fields March 1-May 12, 2019 at Carlsbad Ranch
- Daffodils in California – usually in March, several locations feature hundreds of thousands of the yellow or white spring flowers. We have not updated this yet while waiting for announcements about the 2019 fields that are a “wait & see” based on weather conditions!
- ARVIN: Wildflower Festival Apr.26-28 at Smotherman Park
- LANCASTER: California Poppy Festival Apr. 27-28 at Lancaster City Park
