The street closure craze that happens a few times each year in L.A. is expected to draw more than 100,000 people to cicLAvia on Wilshire Boulevard April 6, 2014. A six-mile stretch of Wilshire between Grand (near Los Angeles City Hall) and Fairfax (Miracle Mile) is off-limit to cars between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. except at intersections providing car crossing points at La Brea, Western, Vermont and Alvarado. If you miss this which includes four Metro stations along the route, there are several more cicLAvia events planned this year. A non-profit organization inspired by a car-free event in Bogota, strives to hold several car-free days in Los Angeles each year.  San Diego held a similar event in March.

What? A street closure day in L.A. inviting bicyclists, walkers, joggers, skateboarders and roller bladers to come out and play.
When? October 5, 2014  CicLAvia – Heart of LA;  December 7, 2014 CicLAvia – South LA
