Cinco de Mayo is just one big party in California usually celebrated with Latin music, margaritas, enchiladas & tacos. Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for 5th of May) is recognized worldwide as an occasion to pay tribute to the Mexican victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in on May 5, 1862.
One of the oldest, biggest parties is held in Old Town San Diego. The 29th Annual Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo (fiestaoldtown.com) takes place May 4-6, 2012, the event includes three days of dancing, mariachi music and special attractions such as the launch on Friday May 4 with a Freestyle Moto X Demo produced by Red Bull!
