Cool, California Paradise and Weed

Three of our favorite towns in California are special places with names to match.
- WEED, CALIF. — Not named for weeds but a man, Abner Weed, the Siskiyou County town with beautiful views of Mt. Shasta enjoys a lush environment where everything seems greener. This weekend Weedfest is all about community spirit. Funds from the music and lifestyle festival help complete the stage at Heritage Plaza.
- PARADISE, CALIF. — One of Butte County’s best kept secrets lives up to its name. Nestled in the Sierra foothills, Paradise’s tall pines and majestic oaks offer an engaging environment. This weekend Paradise Cruisin‘ is holding an event to showcase locals’ love of classics.
- COOL, CALIF. — El Dorado County is proud to claim that it has a place recognized officially as Cool. The annual Way Too Cool 50K Endurance Run held each spring (since 1990) showcases the town’s spectacular scenery and forested trails that runners take to the limits in the Sierra foothills.
