California Cowboys are being honored starting in 2012 as part of the National Day of the Cowboy. Modeled after a Federal resolution first passed in 2006 designating the fourth Saturday in July as the National Day of the Cowboy, California looks forward to honoring its heritage and culture that is source of fascination for tourists from around the world who come to see California’s cowboy themed attractions and places. Redlands loves cowboys and jumped on the bandwagon, quickly putting together a big festival spanning an entire week, held in honor of cowboys and cowgirls.
