For avid skiers, budget boarders, and family-friendly ski resorts with programs geared toward kids, Dodge Ridge is ideal. The Wintersports Area operates in the Stanislaus National Forest under a Special Use Permit from the U.S. Forest Service. Snowboarders absolutely love it because of the enhanced features at Ry’s Run Park where boarders are challenged with medium sized jibs, jumps, a doublebarrel C rail, battleship rail, down rail, flat box, C box, rainbow box, flat down box, rollers and hips.
This weekend the kid-friendly resort which includes dedicated areas for training youth, also showcases sports activities and games that children can participate in at Family Winter Carnival on Jan. 26-27, 2013. Obstacle course, kids one-legged race (in the snow, of course,) parent-child slalom race, and family awards.
