Eat (and Drink) Yourself Silly

In addition to the big Oscar weekend in which thousands of people will flock to Hollywood with hopes of seeing big name celebrities, and in addition to art, daffodils, gems, fishing, travel and boating, the weekend belongs to food-ing. Here are a few tasty delights festivals:
- Chinese and Lunar New Year Festivals throughout the state serving up noodles Chinese or Vietnamese style.
- Indio Date Festival is in its last weekend in the desert. Date shakes on tap!
- Greek Festival in Palm Desert, Ouzo & Opa!
- Ripon Almond Blossom Festival, ah, nuts.
- Santa Cruz Clam Chowder Festival where seafood lurks a few feet away in the Pacific Ocean.
- Ripe Olive Day in Oroville, free admission!
- Wine festivals: Dark & Delicious (Alameda) or Blendfest on the Coast (San Simeon)
