El Capitan State Beach Vacation, Retreat on California’s Central Coast

Located north of the city of Santa Barabara directly off I-101, the campground features both day visits and overnight stays. The sandy beach is ideal for swimming, surfing, fishing sunbathing, picnics and exploring, thanks to rocky tidepools and shade provided by sycamore and oaks along El Capitan Creek. A stairway provides access from the bluffs to the beach area. Beach wheelchairs are also available for use by the public with no cost.
