Everybody wants rain in California — but not on two Saturdays before Christmas. Hundreds of outdoor markets, arts & crafts fairs and holiday festivals are counting on no rain — and it looks like they may get lucky if weather forecasts accurately predict a storm moving through the state, clearing out on Friday, and leaving Saturday partly cloudy to sunny.

Weekend Highlights

  • Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena Dec. 13, 2014. Over 2,500 vendors and 20,000 monthly in one of the most famous markets in the world frequented by celebrities (photo above – 2nd from right).
  • Mountain View German Holiday Market Dec. 13 at Mountain View City Hall Plaza. With incredible success last year the German Market features a full day of entertainment (handbells, carols, German holiday music and dance.) Unique crafted items include original Steinbach wooden nutcrackers and ornaments (photo above-right).
  •  San Diego Holiday Ray @ Night in North Park Dec. 13. Eclectic Art and Culture neighborhood (photo above-left).
  • San Francisco Bazaar Holiday Show Dec. 13-14. Locally produced art and craft show featuring over 180 handmade artisans and food makers (photo above-2nd from left) showcase their wonderful holiday gifts with indoor comfort at Fort Mason Center’s Herbst Pavilion.
