While there are literally thousands of egg hunts taking place in California during the weeks leading up to Easter, there aren’t quite so many flashlight egg hunts. They fall into the category of unusual events similar to the quirky swimming pool egg hunts or sandy beach egg hunts. A flashlight egg hunt isn’t difficult to produce unless you happen to be Mariner’s Church in Irvine, Calif. (pictured,) where thousands of youth show up with their parents, and more than 40,000 eggs are distributed. Most night events use standard eggs or plastic eggs for the hunt, while Temecula uses glow-in-the-dark eggs that cost a bit more but are really fun!
