One of the favorite activities celebrating flowers is to visit the fields where they grow and see them blowing in the wind. Opportunities remain in the summer (even during drought) if you know where to go:
Lavender Festivals this weekend include Ojai Lavender Festival, Lavender Festival at Bluestone Meadow in Placerville, and Matanzas Creek Winery Days of Wine & Lavender in Santa Rosa.
Annual Lompoc Valley Flower Festival: Lompoc Flower Festival includes floats with flower themes. Lompoc used to have miles of flowers growing in fields for seeds and the cut flower industry. While the beautiful fields no longer exist in the volumes they once did, the festival remains as a tribute to the city’s proud heritage.
Wildflower view in the Eastern Sierras: McGee Canyon is in bloom. It’s expected to be full of wildflowers through the weekend. The best way to experience McGee Canyon is to book at pack ride with McGee Creek Pack Station at 800-845-7407
