Recently we drove past our neighborhood Hope View Grade School on the way to the gym and did a double take. Spread across the entire parking lot in front of the school were thousands of boxes embossed and color-coded with colors green, red, yellow, purple, orange and blue. Pulling over to check it out, we discovered that the boxes were cases of Girl Scout Cookies–3,187 cases x 12 packages each, for a total of 38,244 packages of cookies to be exact! In Orange County, Calif., the Girl Scout Cookie Program runs from Sunday, January 26 to Sunday, March 8, 2020. The price of Girl Scout cookies in Orange County is $5 per package and $6 for gluten-free cookies. Find cookies in your area: girlscouts.org/en/cookies/cookies.html
And look for Girl Scout Cookies sold by Scouts in front of local stores. In our area they’ll be selling the tasty treats beginning Feb.14 on Valentine’s Day. While the price has gone up a bit since we last featured this event, it’s a sweet treat for a great cause.
Did you know? Famous girls such as Taylor Swift, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mariah Carey, Sheryl Crow and Hillary Clinton were all Girl Scouts!
