Glow, a free Santa Monica all-night beach event on September 28, 2013 features an unprecedented experience in which attendees can ride the world’s fastest carousel surrounded by 16 speakers and 4 subwoofers. Playing breakthrough pieces of 20th-century music from Mahler to Adams, riders will hear a series of 12-second musical excerpts, each by a different composer, as they revolve on the carousel — 100 years of music in five minutes. With each revolution, a revolution!
Every three years, for just one night, Glow features original, site-specific installations by local and international artists. Produced by the City of Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Arts Foundation, Glow is entirely free to the public. glowsantamonica.org
