Dale Evans Rogers, Queen of the West, Commemorated at Special Event
The Queen of the West, Dale Evans, who was part of a popular Western duo that included husband Roy Rogers and their famous Palomino horse, Trigger, would have been 100 years on October 31, 2012. She died in 2001, 11 years short of the centennial celebration, but is remembered fondly for her cheery outlook on life, served with the Western hospitality that California became famous for. Apple Valley where Dale & Roy lived on the Double R Bar Ranch, pays homage to this beautiful and talented queen on September 29-30, 2012. See applevalley.org
HERE’S A SONG BY DALE EVANS
Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin’ until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we’re together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, ’till we meet again.
Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It’s the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here’s a happy one for you.
Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin’ until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we’re together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, ’till we meet again.
