Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink! Such is the story of California with its 1,000 miles of coast line, and some of the hottest, driest deserts in the world. A land of extremes requires some unique planning to fulfill the needs of all residents and industries in terms of water resources. A fantastic, new exhibit at the High Desert Museum in Yucca Valley delves into this tangled and complicated topic by looking through a lens of time. In addition to exploring the history of water, the exhibit offers a take-away in terms of offering ideas for conservation. Called “A History of Water Wise Living, Native Plants & Water Conservation,” this limited engagement event is free to see September 19, 2013 through January 19, 2014. See: hidesertnaturemuseum.org
