Restaurant visits are expected to inch up 1% nationally in 2015 — last year dining was still 1.3 billion below pre-recession levels at 61 billion and this year’s revenue is looking slightly sluggish, say industry analysts. The only way to drive traffic is to build loyalty and get repeat business, according to one restaurateur. You can shake it, dice it, add salt & pepper, but any way you look at the numbers, there’s a lot that goes into succeeding in one of the most challenging types of businesses to open, operate and make a profit. That’s why many California restaurants participate in annual Restaurant Week / Restaurant Month. Not all hold their events this month but the majority of participants take part in the statewide January promotion.
