ARCADIA, CALIF. — There’s a sight you don’t see often–a stagecoach in the Los Angeles County Arboretum! Celebrate California history on Saturday, May 2, 2015 listening to the clip-clop sound of horses pounding the pavement as you ride a stagecoach. Bringing added excitement to a place that’s colorful any day and season are activities such as learning how to rope, panning for gold and seeing horses from the U.S. Marshall Posse. Enjoy the music of old-time calliopes and Victorian and cowboy fashion displays. The Queen Anne Cottage (seen in Fantasy Island,) Coach Barn and Santa Anita Depot will be open for touring. While visiting the arboretum be on lookout for the peacocks that roam. They give their location away by their sounds. More melodic notes will be heard from The Saguaro Sisters singing three-part harmony–their specialty is Western Skiffle music and songs from the 1930’s, 40’s & 50’s.
