Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch is creating waves ever so slowly in Lemoore, a city known for the biggest pizza in all of Central California. Many of Slater’s followers and fans don’t know how to spell the name of the city where Surf Ranch is located. Though they’ve called it Lenmore, and Lemore, they sure know how to get there to check out this exciting attraction rocking the surfing world.

Alongside Lemoore’s Central Valley Pizza Festival where contestants try to scarf down the Fatte 28″, three-topping pie, world-class surfers have their eyes on a different prize as they plan for the Founders’ Cup of Surfing (WSLFoundersCup.com). Held May 5-6, 2018 at Slater’s hi-tech wave pool in the middle of alfalfa fields more than 100 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the surfing event is attracting teams from the USA, Brazil, Australia, Europe and World for what may become the newest wave in surfing competitions globally.

Kelly Slater in Lemoore

  • Kelly Slater Wave Co LLC joined Lemoore Chamber of Commerce (produces the Pizza festival)
  • In February 2018 the City of Lemoore accepted a Surf Ranch Donation in the amount of $12,500
  • Interim City Manager Olson stated at a recent Council Meeting that the Surf Ranch requested a City of Lemoore flag to fly on their property. A flag was delivered and Assistant City Manager Michelle Speer had the opportunity to raise the flag. “The ranch is an amazing facility,” she said.
  • Slater’s wave machine creates the longest, rideable open-barrel man-made wave in the world.
  • Powered 100% by the sun, Surf Ranch waves reportedly are created through PGE Solar Choice, a Green Tariff Shared Renewables Program (California Senate Bill No.43.)
