Two illuminating events this week left to right:
1. Manhattan Beach “Sunset through the Light Gate” takes place every November 14th when artwork made of glass, laminated with prismatic lighting film, creates rich and varied effects with the sun shining through Light Gate’s keyhole.
2. Beverly Hills BOLD Holiday Lighting Celebration kicks off more than a month of festivities with Holiday Lighting Celebration November 14, 2019 on Rodeo Drive. Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe award-nominated actor Matthew Morrison takes the stage for a special performance of holiday songs, along with a sneak peek from his upcoming album of Disney classic covers. The evening is capped with glittering, grand finale fireworks.
With daylight savings “falling back” just over a week ago, many are still trying to cope as we lose sunlight an hour earlier at night.
Light is a major theme in the fall and winter as California Hindus celebrate Diwali (festival of light,) which symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
In our Golden State nearly every municipality celebrates the holidays (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc.) with tree lighting ceremonies and/or light parades. You’ll see quite a few of them posted on SeeCalifornia.com, and this week the events are just rolling out…
