Entertainment-hungry tourists have plenty to see and do in California, thanks to a building bonanza at theme parks and attractions. Among the latest news:
LONG BEACH: Aquarium of the Pacific (aquariumofpacific.org) will open a new Pacific Visions wing, a 29,000-square-foot, two-story sustainable biomorphic structure in late 2018. Reminiscent of a whale shape its exterior evokes the depth, variability and luminosity of the Pacific Ocean. Step inside to find a state-of-the-art immersive theater, expanded special exhibition & art galleries, and more room for live animal exhibits. The $53 million project designed by EHDD is the second and final phase of a Campus Master Plan adopted in 2005. EHDD designed the original facility as well as the critically acclaimed Monterey Bay Aquarium.
