When a third cruise ship is added to Carnival Cruise’s Long Beach port in early 2014 tourists will have more options in booking–and Long Beach will become the busiest West Coast cruise line port for passenger capacity. The 2,052-passenger Imagination from Miami is undergoing renovation and soon will offer three and four-day cruises to Mexico, along with sister ships Inspiration (in photo) and Splendor. The net economic impact is expected to top $65 million. Of 11 major ports in California four handle cruise lines–San Diego, Los Angeles, Long Beach and San Francisco.
