Do you believe in UFOs and aliens (off planet kind)? “Look up! You may see a UFO.” But be sure to take a picture for evidence because 9 times out of 10, you’ll discover you are looking at an ordinary, man-made thing–such as a water tower. Believe it or not, even water towers have been misidentified as alien spacecraft. It usually happens at night and perhaps, the individual or group has been drinking too much fire water. These man-made objects often look like planets, little houses with roofs, or event spacecraft sitting on tripods. They actually are quite interesting to study. It would be easy to see why an alien would want to check them out to discover what they’re used for. Who would ever guess that these odd towers actually contain water? From towers that say, Home of UC Merced, Gonzales, or City of Guadalupe, to one that looks like a Swedish teapot in Kingsburg, or serves as an actual house you can rent in Surfside, they are a fascinating part of our California landscape. Be sure to look up, or you may miss them!
