Enjoy the height of Summer with many celebrations this week, including special music festivals.

CLASSICAL MUSIC: Go ahead and rock to Bach, Mozart, Strauss and Beethoven. In addition to Elk Grove’s incredible Strauss Festival, Carmel is hosting its annual Bach Festival, a 15 day music celebration through August 2, 2014.  Lake Tahoe Music Festival through July 26 includes concerts featuring works by Rimsky-Korsakov and Vivaldi. San Luis Obispo’s 10 day Festival Mozaic, concludes with great concerts featuring the works of Claude Debussy and Dmitri Shostakovich. Stanford’s Mozart Festival ends with a Mozart Bouquet, while Cabrillo Music Festival July 27-August 10, 2014 launches this weekend with free rehearsal performances.

NOT CLASSICAL: Point Reyes Far West Festival features bluegrass while Love City Music Festival in San Francisco entertains with alternative music and indie sounds. This weekend you can head for Bear Valley Music Festival, Pico Rivera’s Organic Music Festival, and, as usual, you can always opt for a fantastic, free summer concert in a park.
