National Parks Get Outdoors Fee Free Day on June 9, 2012

Saturday, June 9 is a free admission day to California’ national parks and all national parks. It’s a great time to get out play. See Yosemite’s Half Dome (shown in photo), climb a rock at Joshua Tree National Park, walk the dunes at Death Valley, see the world’s biggest and most famous trees–General Grant and General Sherman–at Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park, and save as much as $20 with no fee to drive into the parks and historic places. It’s such a deal!

Getting in free June 9, 2012:

  • Joshua Tree National Park –  $15 admission for car, but is free on June 9
  • Lassen Volcanic National Park – $10 car, free on June 9
  • Death Valley National Park – $20 car, but free on June 9
  • Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park -$20 car, free June 9
  • Whiskeytown National Recreation Area – $5 car, free June 9
  • Yosemite National Park – $20 car, free June 9
  • Cabrillo National Monument $5 car, free June 9
  • Devils Postpile National Monument $7 car, free June 9
  • Muir Woods – $7, free June 9

Never a fee:

  • Alcatraz – No fee, but must pay boat trip
  • Channel Islands National Park – No fee, but must pay for boat ride to get there
  • Mojave National Preserve – Free
  • Redwood National Parks – Free
  • Fort Point Historic Site – free
  • Golden Gate National Recreation Area  – free
