While Southern Californians are enjoying 50 days of free concerts that include a variety of World Music acts, in the Bay Area one huge event brings World Music to a single place and single day. World Music Day is coming your way June 17 (Father’s Day). It is a free music festival that takes place in cities around the world every year close to the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. At the Palo Alto festival (pamusicday.org), 50 professional and amateur musical groups will perform a wide variety of musical genres on sidewalks and street corners along University Avenue and on King Plaza.
