LAGUNA BEACH, CALIF. — If you are looking for places that inspire this Valentine’s Day or any other time, there’s a scenic public garden at one of Laguna Beach’s some 25+ beaches. It is the Peace & Love Garden that sits on a hillside next to the stairs leading down to Mountain Road Beach. With a quaint wooden park bench, a set of tiles to walk along and heart shaped rocks, cupids and peace signs on rocks, this is a hidden gem you may enjoy. Some have actually taken a loved one and kissed there, said a prayer for peace, or proposed and asked someone to marry them. We’ve been told the success rate is pretty high!
Garden cherub statues are situated along the hillside next to homes with luxury views, and a set of public stairs that lead down to the beach featuring some of the prettiest ocean colors along the California coast. A stone white dove on a post perched above a wooden sign, “GARDEN OF PEACE LOVE”, can’t be seen from street level view. But all you have to do is descend a handful of steps at the foot of Mountain Road, and that’s where harmony awaits.
Other popular spots to be inspired include Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, approx. 48 miles south of Orange County’s beach destination in San Diego County.
