The Chinese Temple in Oroville celebrated its grand opening 151 years ago in 1863. During its century-and-a-half of offering comfort & familiarity to Chinese Americans and inviting curious tourists to come take a look, there have been 13 ‘Year of the Horse’ celebrations, give or take a few. Throughout its existence the objects, art and temple grounds have showcased timeless icons of Chinese culture. Celebrate, appreciate and experience good fortune by visiting this special place open to the public!
