California’s Mega Racing Events
There’s nothing more exciting than watching world class sportsmen who come to California to race. Several annual racing events are the toast of the town — one in Long Beach — and the other lined up for a series of destinations in our Golden State.
The annual Amgen Tour of California (left photo) takes place in 2019 on May 12-18, gracing places such places as Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, South Lake Tahoe, Stockton, Morgan Hill, Monterey’s WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Sec, Morro Bay,Pismo Beach, Ventura, Ontario, Mt. Baldy, Santa Clarita and Pasadena. Most of the race watching is free to see, but you can purchase VIP experiences such as VIP Car Ride or VIP Finish Line Experience.
But before you get jazzed up over bicycle racing, don’t forget to take in car racing at the Grand Prix of Long Beach (right photo) with this year’s title sponsor Acura on April 11-14. While the official event launches Friday, the first night of exciting fun on Thursday is free for everyone at The Pike in Long Beach. It includes race cars on display, autograph sessions, classic car show, motocross demos, food vendors, beer garden and live music.
