Rubber Duck Drops, Dumps, Derbies and Races

Published on: April 05, 2012

Who would think that people of all ages would go crazy for quackers? Just show them a bright yellow rubber duck bouncing in a lake, pool, or Pacific Ocean, and you’ll be amazed how many are willing to pull out their wallet and contribute to a cause. Rubber ducks in California have been the theme of fundraisers for several decades, helping hospitals, libraries and numerous non-profit organizations purchase equipment or finance special programs and causes.

This Easter weekend there are two duck events being held on April 7, one at Lake Gregory in San Bernardino County in conjunction with an Egg Hunt, and another on Catalina Island while an Egg Hunt also goes on there. See the 2012 list of Duck Races in California!
