Sacramento may be called Capitol City, but it outta be called Museum City! Per capita, the residents of Sacramento have more museums to see than any other city in the state (except possibly San Diego, L.A. and San Francisco.) Sacramento Museum Day is an annual event allowing guests to see museums free. Among the things to see are pharmaceuticals, Indian artifacts, a fort, art, a cemetery, an old schoolhouse, trains, cars, military collections, zebras, lions, giraffes, and the State Capitol, of course! This year the big event (Sacramento Museum Day) takes place on Feb. 1, 2014, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. See: sacmuseums.org.
