Who doesn’t love the magic of San Francisco? Traditionally ranking as one of the top destinations in California to best survive recessions, the city by the bay has lots going on to lure you from your fog and into a vacation. This May the city celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge, but the one-time event will attract a large local audience. Tourists like to see Alcatraz, ride cable cars, view Telegraph Hill and wander Fisherman’s Wharf. Before you go, check online for information (alcatrazcruises.com) such as the trips to Alcatraz. They are extremely popular, and are operated by a concessionaire to the National Park Service. Don’t get there and miss this great adventure because you didn’t know how popular Alcatraz really is!
