It’s hard to imagine that glass bottles could one day become precious gems worn around your neck, on your wrist, or adorning a finger, no less.
The annual Santa Cruz Sea Glass Festival Nov. 2 & 3, 2013 at Cocoanut Grove Boardwalk invites sea glass collectors, buyers, sellers and the public to admire sea glass products and try them on for size.
Rarer than glass pumpkin patches, sea glass conferences, conventions and festivals are held in Cayucos, Fort Bragg and Santa Cruz annually. If you think that collecting sea glass looks like child’s play, you’ll come home with a different appreciation of what goes into harvesting, smoothing and designing glass objects that people love to buy! It’s hard work but has its rewards–you get to spend hours hanging out at beaches!
