SEAL BEACH, CALIF. — It may have been 70 degrees and balmy with palm trees swaying in the breeze next to Seal Beach Pier on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but that didn’t stop some of the 3,000 people attending Seal Beach’s Snow Festival and Tree Lighting Ceremony from wearing mittens, boots, parkas and stocking caps. Only in Southern California! The annual event produced by the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce was the biggest, best attended to date according to Chamber officials who credit promotional efforts and great planning, as well as incredible volunteerism with bringing so many people out to the beach to see and experience real snow. Don’t put away those gloves just yet! The annual Seal Beach Christmas Parade takes place on December 5, 2014, marching down Main Street at 5 p.m. It gets mighty chilly on a winter night when those “tradewinds” blow off the Pacific. Aloha!
