Isn’t California scary enough? Just look at the price of gas! For those who can’t get enough of a thrill, October is the perfect time to push the fear button for some added excitement this Halloween season. Graveyard tours aren’t so scary, Mickey’s Halloween Party is mostly about candy, and the biggest, must-see Halloween haunts aren’t always within reach of your neighborhood. We’re compiling our 2012 list of haunted attractions produced by intelligent, sometimes twisted and talented Californians.
One of the most popular Bay Area attractions is Pirates of Emerson (shown in photos). Located at Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, “Pirates” was formed around 20 years ago when several people got together and thought it would be fun to make a haunted house. It grew and now features incredible, new mazes each year, plus the haunted pumpkin patch.
So why do Californians flock to haunted houses & attractions in search of a good scare? Find out why!
